Authorities in St. Petersburg announced an elderly woman died as a result of injuries sustained in a single vehicle crash Saturday.
The car accident happened as eighty year old Lillie Addision was heading north on 16th Street South in her Chevrolet Cavalier.
At roughly nine in the evening, Addison approached the 1700 block of sixteenth street and for reasons unknown swerved toward the center median and crashed into a large palm tree.
The car struck the tree straight on and the resulting crash seriously injured Addison. Addison was transported to Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg where she was pronounced dead.
