St. Petersburg Police reported at fatal crash that resulted in the death of a Georgia resident.
The crash took place as sixty-four year old Melba Stultz from Conyers Georgia was eastbound on 38th Avenue North at the intersection with a on-ramp to the northbound lanes of interstate 275.
At roughly the same time fifty one year old Anthony Vargas from Pinellas Park was westbound on 38th Avenue North in a full-sized Ford van.
At approximately seven in the evening, Stultz attempted to turn onto the I-275 ramp, crossing the road and driving directly into the path of the oncoming van.
After the collison, Stultz was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where she died from her injuries. Anthony Vargas, was also taken to Bayfront for injuries and was later released.
