Florida Highway Patrol announced a deadly auto accident in Tampa in the pre-dawn Saturday morning .
The crash happened as fifty year old John Haughton from Sun City Center was northbound on U.S. 41 in his 2006 Ford Focus. At roughly two in the morning Haughton was approaching the intersection with Hartford Street when he was passed by a full-sized Ford F-250 pick up truck driven by forty six year old Micah Steel of Tampa.
Haughton collided violently with the back of the pickup truck in his smaller Ford Focus.
After the collision, both vehicles came to rest at the eastern side of the highway. Haughton suffered severe injuries during the crash and died at the scene of the accident.
