Tampa Police announced a multi-car crash involving five vehicles Friday afternoon.
The report states that a driver southbound on Bayshore Boulevard in a Dodge Ram pickup truck after five in the afternoon. As the pick up truck approached the intersection with South Carolina Avenue it failed to stop for traffic and slammed into the rear end of a stopped vehicle at speed.
After colliding with the stopped vehicle the pick up truck continued on where it collided with two additional vehicles close to West Bay To Bay. That impact redirected the pickup toward the median, where the pick up truck drove over the median still at speed and overturned onto the northbound lanes of Bayshore boulevard directly into the path of oncoming traffic, causing two more vehicles to collide with the pick up truck.
Tampa Police reported that all told the traffic accident involved five vehicles and ten people. The report also stated that the driver of the pick up truck suffered a medical emergency which contributed to the accident. Despit the violence of the crash and five people suffering minor injuries, no one was killed or seriously hurt.
